The picture illustrates the process by which electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power plant.
It is apparent that there are some main stages in this process, beginning with water from rivers flowing into Dam and ending with water flowing pumped back to a high-level reservoir.
Looking at the beginning of the process, river water in high-level reservoir goes through the intake under the dam which is opened during the day and closed at night. Then, water flow goes to the power station to generate electricity. The station has reversible turbines which connect with a generator. In the next step of the process, water from the power station flows into low-level reservoir. Besisdes, electricity made from the generator will be loaded to national grids through power lines.
On the other hand, at night, water from the low-level reservoir will be pumped back into the high-level reservoir through the reversible turbines. Like the water from the high-level reservoir.
